COVID-19 and cardiovascular disease

Cardiovascular system involvement has been increasingly recognized with COVID infection.

Symptoms include persistent shortness of breath (especially with exertion), chest pain, feeling lightheaded, faint or dizzy, strong or irregular heartbeats, passing out spells.

COVID-19 induced cardiovascular damage includes:

  1. Inflammation of the heart muscle (myocarditis),
  2. Inflammation of the lining of blood vessels (causing clots to form)
  3. Heart attacks and reversible heart failure.

Our COVID Cardiovascular Wellness Program includes detailed clinical assessments and advanced diagnostic and imaging techniques with the goal of optimizing cardiovascular health and minimizing COVID related vascular injuries.

Our evaluation and treatment modalities include remote monitoring of blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation, and heart rate. In office six lead ECGs are used to monitor heart function, and availability of advanced diagnostic testing to evaluate for heart rythym abnormalities.
